Over

Over Over is a short film directed by J örn Threlfall. It is based on a true story about a man who was hiding in the aircrafts wheel - well, and fell out when the landing gear was lowered. The film takes on a structure which makes the time go back and I think it is perfectly planned because, the one part that creates tension is where we see the man fall and that is like a one or two seconds so if that was at the start of the film then, the rest of the film would've been pointless so, by putting this scene at the end, the director slowly creates tension from the start by using long shots and going back in time raising questions from the audiences mind as what is happening? As much as I really like this film, the only part I can look at is the structure however, I will not be using this structure in my film.

Arrival

Arrival Arrival is short movie based on a pregnant young girl trying to decide if she should keep her baby or not. She is waiting for the babies partner and will tell him her decision. Overall, I really didn't like this short film because I don't find the story interesting. Also, the train scene I understood what it conveyed (the arrival of a train just like the arrival of a baby) however, I felt like it came at the wrong moment and it confused me at first too. So, I don't think I will take anything from the movie onto my screenplay.

Operator

Operator Operator is a short, Drama based film. Its directed by Caroline Bartleet and It shows a women named Laura who works as an operator taking emergency calls for fire services. The caller is a young mother named Grace and in a panicking tone keeps telling Laura that there is fire in the house and her son is trapped in the bedroom. Throughout the short film Laura needs to keep calm her self and to advise and give directions to keep Grace safe however, Grace is panicking too much so Laura tries to help her as much as she can until the fire services arrive. At the end fire services arrive and Grace and her son is safe so as well as Laura, the audience is relieved too. This film in my opinion is the best film out of all the films that we've watched because of the way suspense is created in a very simple way. Sound is used very well to create suspense because sometimes we cant hear the voice of Grace in the phone and also sometimes we can hear stuff breaking and Grace s...

Tight Jeans

Tight Jeans Tight Jeans is a light comedy short film directed by Destiny Ekaragha. 3 teenage black people are sitting on the wall waiting for their friend, they see someone that is wearing tight jeans and start talking about how hard it would be for them to wear the jeans and this sparks a hilarious debate about race and culture. I think what I will take to my screenplay is the comedy in the dialogue because my film will base kind of in the same community and because the comedy in this film is very good, in my opinion, I will use that idea on my one.

Echo

Echo, is a short film based on a teenage girl receiving phone calls repeatedly about how her father has had an accident which he is taken to hospital. She does this to scam people so she can get money from them. The writer James Walker, witnessed this event occurring in real life. The writer tells us that he saw a girl at one place crying about an accident then, saw the same girl at another place doing the same thing. He was so fascinated by it that he talked about it with the director and so the plot is based on a real life event. Editing in this short film is used very well. In the last phone call scene, because the audience has seen the calls a lot of times already it should kind of feel boring. However, the quick transition between shots kind of emphasis the girls haert and how quick its beating which increases tension. Also, the echoing of her voice repeats the emotional words which she says for e.g. My dads had an accident. Therefore, makes the audience feel emotion...
